Explores the structure and function of the cardiac system and various pathologies in adult cardiovascular diseases. Students will learn how to assess these clinical abnormalities of the human heart through the principles of echocardiographic imaging focusing on normal, abnormal, and post-operative valvular disease, coronary artery disease, systemic and pulmonary hypertension, adult cardiomyopathies and diseases of great vessels. This course is the second semester in a two-semester sequence that studies normal human anatomy and physiology using a body systems approach with emphasis on the interrelationships between form and function at the gross and microscopic levels of organization through learning and laboratory activities. The course continues examination of these topics: cellular metabolism; individual components of body systems; and homeostatic mechanisms and their relationship to fluid, electrolyte, acid-base balance and blood. Introduces advanced 3D Printing theories and business principles. Manipulation of SolidWorks models to create complex 3D Printed parts is also covered. SME Fundamentals certification to accompany completion of class. (Prerequisite: 10-614-236, Intro to Rapid Prototype)

Provides basic knowledge and echocardiographic assessment of major cardiac pathophysiology including infiltrative heart disease, cardiac tumors and masses, pericardial disease, cardiac diseases related to systemic illness, sonographers role in invasive and non-invasive procedures and begin to explore new and emerging technologies and opportunities in the field of echocardiography. This course will provide the opportunity to develop the skills needed to diagnose, service and repair the electrical side of the antilock brake system, vehicle stability enhancement system, and electronic steering and suspension system. (Pre-requisites: 10-602-102 Auto Electrical and Electronic Systems 1, 10-602-124 Steering and Suspension Systems, 10-602-104 Brake Systems)

Solve advanced series-parallel circuits utilizing Thevenin's and Norton's Theorems, nodal analysis, superposition, complex number-based, and other circuit analysis techniques. Also includes Ideal op-amp, three-phase circuits, circuit models of sensors and actuators, laboratory, simulation, and documentation. (Prerequisite: 10-660-109, AC 3: RLC Circuits)

Higher level, more complex procedure and operations related to instruction relative to consumer auto repair.

Analyze and utilize mathematical modeling for applications of solid-state devices, including Op-amps, diode circuits, BJT transistors, MOSFET transistors, switching circuits, and linear power supplies. Design basic BJT and MOSFET amplifier circuits as well as laboratory, simulation, and documentation. (Prerequisites: 10-605-161, Linear Electronics 2: JFET Amp)

Preparatory aspects, clinical decision-making, basic pharmacology, intravenous therapy, cardiovascular cases, diabetic, narcotic overdose, pediatrics, terrorism response and clinical skill competencies of Advanced EMT level care. (Prerequisites: Apply to AEMT program, currently licensed as a Wisconsin EMT and AEMT Viewpoint account requirements completed).

Explores mechanisms involved in the development of hematological disorders. Emphasis is placed upon laboratory techniques used to diagnose disorders and monitor treatment. (Prerequisite: 10-513-120, Basic Hematology)

Explores advanced imaging modalities including, CT scanning, magnetic resonance (MR) scanning, medical sonography, and fluoroscopy, and how each contributes to the concept of diagnostic yield (DY). Image data management and networking will also be discussed. (Prerequisite: 10-605-219, Foundations of Image Quality)

Provides an overview of acid fast organisms, fungi, parasites, and anaerobic bacteria. The organisms, their pathophysiology, epidemiology, the diseases and conditions that they cause, laboratory methods of handling, culturing and identification will be discussed.
